If you read my previous article on Hi-Fi Rush, I did mention how I used to not like rhythm games. When my friends recommends me to play osu! or Cytus, I just say 'yeah, I'll look into it' and then never try it. I just don't find those games interesting to me. My first 'rhythm' game I played was Crypt of the Necrodance, which is very fun to play, but can also be very frustrating at times since it is very hard. I then followed up with Cadence of Hyrule, which becomes one of my favourite games to re-play. After those two games, I was looking for more rhythm games to play. Coincidentally, at that time, Rhythm Heaven was having a resurgence in popularity on Youtube, especially for Rhythm Heaven Fever, after RTGame's 'visual' playthrough and JaidenAnimation's All Superb speedrun I decided to try it out.

Hi-Fi Rush art (Bethesda launch article)

It was 25 January 2023. It was an ordinary day for me and should be so for the next couple of weeks & months, since I had no anticipated games on my list that I want to try in the near future. There was a Xbox & Bethesda Developer Direct that I didn't really care about, since I am not an Xbox user & usually not interested in games that they are releasing. Then, Hi-Fi Rush got announced there and it got released 1 hour after the Direct ends. I still didn't know about this game at this point, until the next day when a Reddit user creates a post in r/gaming about this game. After reading the initial wave of reviews on Steam, I finally jumped on the band-wagon and buy this game, albeit still feeling a bit unsure whether I make the right decision to purchase this game or not. To my surprise, I actually enjoy this game. After beating the game, I can say that this is now definitely one of the games on my favorite list.

Splatoon is one of the newest franchise/IP from Nintendo that manages to be successful. The first Splatoon game -- released 2015 on the WiiU -- while still a very basic shooter games, validated the concept of the inky-based shooter. Splatoon 2 -- released 2017 on the Switch -- improves a lot from the first game, added new features, and got the amazing Octo Expansion DLC. The (Splatoon) team got a lot to do for Splatoon 3, especially after the 2020 reveal trailer that hyped up Splatoon players, including me. It may seemed that the Splatoon team did it again, as Splatoon 3 launched back in September 2022 and got a Best Multiplayer Game award in The Game Awards. While it does have a bit of a rocky launch, the game was met with mostly positive feedbacks from people.

Pokemon Violet (and Scarlet) was one of the most anticipated games to come out in 2022. The game promised open-world, non-linear exploration -- a follow-up from Pokemon Legends: Arceus semi open-world -- which excites Pokemon fans, including me. 'We can actually do the Gyms in any order', I thought to myself. Here we are, in November, and the launch of Pokemon Violet (and Scarlet) -- even though managed to smash records as the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game -- are definitely rough, as players reported multitude of issues with the games. Let's jump right in.

How Computers Display Works : A Software Perspective

Created on Wednesday, 04 March 2020

Without monitors, we may never be able to use computers the way it is now. But, how do they work? How can they produce such beautiful interfaces we see today? How is your current computer/mobile phones can display this website to you?

In this article, I will take you down to the fundamental of how computers can display stuff at the monitor. Due to my education in computer science, I will explain it mostly on the software-side. I will touch a little bit on the display technologies, though, but, it may not be that comprehensive and deep. So, don't expect me to explain how the actual chemical and physical properties of the monitor, so that they can emit various lights, that will be another person's job to do.
